Dr. Jason Joseph is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He subsequently completed an internship in general surgery followed by urology residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He received additional subspecialty training in robotics, laparoscopy, and endourology, completing a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery and Endourology at the University of Florida.
Dr. Joseph’s clinical interests include minimally invasive urologic surgery for both benign and malignant urologic disease, with specific interests in robotic surgery for prostate cancer (radical prostatectomy), kidney cancer (partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy), upper urinary tract obstruction (pyeloplasty, ureteral reimplantation), and lower urinary tract dysfunction (simple prostatectomy, bladder diverticulectomy). He also performs minimally invasive surgery for urinary stone disease (ureteroscopy, PCNL).
Dr. Joseph has authored numerous scientific publications, including peer-reviewed articles and videos of surgical techniques. He has presented his research at national and international meetings, and has authored contributions to several textbooks including Campbell-Walsh Urology, the Atlas of Robotic Urologic Surgery, and the Textbook of Male Genitourethral Reconstruction.
He is excited to be a part of the community on the Peninsula and is committed to providing excellent, evidence-based patient care, prioritizing the needs of the patient above all. Dr. Joseph has a passion for educating patients on the nature of their specific urologic condition and on the specific advantages and disadvantages of all available treatment options, thereby empowering his patients to make informed, independent decisions regarding their urologic care.
In his free time, Dr. Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife Meredith and playing tennis. He is an avid fan of the Florida Gators and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
