Kelly grew up in Bridgeport, West Virginia and attended Alderson Broaddus University in 1985 where she graduated with honors from their Physicians Assistant Program while also minoring in Sociology.
She began her career in Orthopedic Reconstruction and Trauma Surgery where she spent 25 years before moving into the Ear, Nose, and Throat, and Cancer services at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Shortly after, she accepted a position in Urology within Vidant serving mainly in the level one trauma center emergency room. Kelly also provided post operative patient care and urological consultations while under the supervision of six other Urologists. After spending nine years in the urological field, she developed a special interest in Prostate and Bladder Cancer and is thrilled to incorporate her hospital based practice to an office based system. Kelly is certified by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants, is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, and also spent time serving as a student mentor during her time in North Carolina. In addition to her professional memberships, she also co-authored several papers with Dr. William Ogden, MD and served as first assistant to Dr. Scott Hannum, MD on a total knee joint replacement.
In her down time, Kelly enjoys spending her days with her family and can be found boating, fishing, cycling, skiing, backpacking, traveling, and participating in triathlons.
