ACCOUNTING MANAGER/ FINANCE DIRECTOR
We are seeking an accounting professional who will be responsible for all in-house accounting duties such as management of accounts payable, payroll, administrating finances, general ledger, stand-alone financial statements and other management reports for Urology of Virginia. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who is able to take on greater responsibility as our organization continues to grow.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that improve practice financial performance
Gather data and produce financial reports as requested by administration, physicians, departments and committees
Produce checks for all accounts payables, ensuring bills are accurate prior to payment, and are paid timely to avoid late fees and to receive discount
Work closely with HR on processing and managing payroll
Post journal entries in the QuickBooks accounting software
On a monthly basis: reconcile bank statements, prepare month end financial reports, produce trial balance, journal entries, account analyses and supporting schedules
Maintain physician expense files and expense reimbursements
Deposit and post money collected at the practice sites in QuickBooks
Calculate and pay in a timely manner all tax bills as required by local, state, and national government entities
Assist in the year-end close out of practice financials
Adhere to all state and federal regulations as they pertain to financial activities of the practice
Manage department performance by participating in the annual budget process and the formulation of department policies, procedures and standards

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER
Urology of Virginia, located in Hampton Roads, is seeking experienced Physician Assistant (PA) who will be responsible for daily clinic duties in collaboration with a physician. The PA will also share in weekend hospital rounding rotation with other mid-level providers.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate
Assess the patient’s medical condition by completion of a urological examination
Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes, and other reports as requested
Order and evaluate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications and devices based on the patient’s medical condition
Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols
Order physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriate
Fulfill hospital rounding duties as assigned

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Licensure as Physician Assistant in the state of Virginia

CENTRAL SCHEDULER
We are seeking a professional and experienced Medical Office Scheduler who will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments and tests in an efficient and timely manner. This is a full-time position.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule new patients and established patients for office visits by evaluating their needs to determine appropriate site and provider of care, based on the conversation with the patient and insurance eligibility
Completes incoming requests from referring providers via telephone calls, emails, in-baskets or faxes and manages their requests and/or inquiries
Promptly and courteously answers and screens incoming calls and routes them appropriately according to established customer service guidelines

CLINICAL ASSISTANT
We are seeking a professional and experienced Clinical Assistant who will perform
a variety of clinical tasks for a physician, as assigned.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that exam rooms are prepped, cleaned, and stocked in preparation for patients and between patients as required. Preps patient charts as required for appointments
Preps patients for any in office procedures and assists providers as necessary with exams, treatments and testing. As well as, performs necessary procedures as required (phlebotomy, bladder scans, catheter changes, etc.)
Collect and properly label all necessary lab specimens to include but not limited to blood, urine, and biopsy tissue
Perform CLIA waved laboratory testing, strictly adhering to the policies and guidelines established by UVA and the practice
Effectively uses necessary PPE as appropriate and abides by safe handling and disposal protocols of medical equipment and materials
Provide patient education and training as needed to include by not limited to self- catheterization, bladder irrigations, pre-op instructions and post-op care
Utilizes electronic medical records for documentation and charting all patient information to include but not limited to phone encounters, appointment scheduling, lab results, provider orders, etc.
Cover phones for patient triage for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and other duties related to aiding in patient care and treatment, by answering, documenting, and routing when appropriate all incoming patient calls
Obtains authorizations and pre-certifications for clinical treatments, exams, diagnostic testing, and prescriptions as required per the patient’s health plan

CLINICAL ASSISTANT – URODYNAMICS
We are seeking a professional and experienced Clinical Assistant who will perform
Urodynamics and Video Urodynamics diagnostic evaluations, tests, pre and post evaluation follow-up, review of patient record and history pre and post procedure.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performance of patient/care giver education regarding testing, telephone triage, patient education toward the management of dysfunctional elimination issues, urinary tract infections and diagnostic tests
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team on a daily basis including nurses, physicians and medical assistants.
Acts as liaison for medical equipment companies supplying UD supplies and testing equipment. Knowledgeable about all equipment utilized in UD testing including the use of Xray and video equipment. Communicates directly with company for troubleshooting.
Provides comprehensive interpretative UD report for each patient. Collaborates with MD regarding UDS results.
Works collaboratively with support staff for scheduling and coordination of UD testing at main location and any satellite offices.
PTNS- administers PTNS treatments at main site and satellite locations. Maintains high level of knowledge regarding PTNS treatments including current literature and appropriate patient candidates. Provides patient education re: PTNS treatment protocols and outcome expectations.
Assists in room maintenance, equipment upkeep as necessary to assure prompt patient flow. Participates in requests for supplies and equipment.
Use time efficiently, works in conjunction with other staff members in positive and productive manner. Uses “down time” to get ahead on assigned tasks or implements new projects for continued growth and development of department. Emphasizes team approach- readily assists other staff members.
Accurately record hours worked per day utilizing computer system. Requests for time off made in writing with adequate time to request back up or to change work templates.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent
Successful completion of secondary education in medical assisting or other nursing related field of study
Has knowledge of lower urinary tract anatomy and functions
Able to manage a patient load of 5-8 patients per day, based on type of testing done, in a timely and efficient manner while focusing on quality patient care in a professional manner.

CODING SPECIALIST
We are seeking a professional and experienced Certified Procedure Coder (CPC) to be responsible for charge entry, patient visit reconciliation, and coding patient accounts using ICD-9 and CPT coding.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
BILLING:
Fully understands the Athena billing system to include all aspects of registration, billing, collections, refunds and appointment scheduling
Possesses a strong working knowledge of CPT coding, HCSPCS coding, and ICD9 coding as it relates to urology medical services. Understands the utilization of modifiers and other coding rules to include the AMA, CCI, and other coding organizations.
Answers patient phone calls in a timely and courteous manner. Handles all patient inquiries, completing necessary tasks to finalize the billing process
Utilizes the electronic medical records to gather necessary information so that claims can be processed and paid by the insurance carriers
Performs duties, or is cross trained to perform duties, in any or all areas of billing
CHARGES:
Codes Surgical OP notes and other medical services to ensure proper coding and charging of services
Works all HOLD/MGR HOLD buckets that pertain to coding issues
Runs reports on coding issues to report to Billing Director
Reports to Billing Director any coding issues trends and helps to resolve the issues, by setting up custom rules in Athena or contacting insurance companies on policies and procedures
Works the Connect Care Interface bucket to ensure all charges are entered into the Athena system as clean claims and are filed in a timely manner
Assist with the billing departments Compliance Audits. Ensures staff are adhering to policies and procedures needed to remain compliant
Assist with provider coding audits on a quarterly basis, or as determined necessary by Billing Director and Administrator
Assists Billing Director with creating and keeping up-to-date Coding and Billing Manuals for the Billing office
Special Projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years hands on billing experience within a physician’s office and/or successful completion of secondary education in medical billing or medical administration

MEDICAL BENEFITS ADVISOR
We are seeking a professional and experienced Medical Benefits Advisor who will work the daily schedules and evaluate potential patient financial liability. This is a full-time position.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answers patient phone calls in a timely and courteous manner. Handles all patient inquiries, completing necessary tasks to finalize the billing process.
Works with front desk staff and secretaries to ensure proper referrals for HMO patients
Verifies and contacts patients regarding their financial responsibility for drug benefits.
Meet with patients to ensure balances are paid in full or arrangements are made.

Previous experience in medical billing and/or successful completion of secondary education in medical billing and/or medical administration

MEDICAL SECRETARY
We are seeking 2 professional and experienced Medical Secretaries who will perform a variety of complex, administrative tasks for physician, as assigned. These positions are located at our Virginia Beach and Portsmouth locations.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides administrative support for physician, as assigned
Schedules patient appointments for the UVA office, the hospital, and outside physician offices and diagnostic facilities
Maintains appointment tickler and calls patients to schedule follow-up appointments.
Schedules surgery
Manages incoming mail and faxes
Completes paperwork for FMLA, disability, work notes and other papers for patients when needed
Obtains authorizations and pre-certifications for clinical treatments, exams, diagnostic testing, and surgery as required per the patient’s health plan

JOB REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate or equivalent
One to three years of medical clerical or secretarial experience

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
We are seeking a professional and experienced Lab Tech to work in a large specialty group’s clinical lab. MLT’s are preferred, but candidates with other lab certifications and science degrees can apply. This is a part-time day position working primarily in micro and chemistry.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all duties according to current CLIA AND OSHA regulations
Maintain all laboratory equipment and an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
Accession and process lab specimens as outlined in the Lab Procedure Manual.
Perform all microbiology and chemistry lab test and quality control procedures as described in the Lab Procedure Manual.
Maintain proper documentation as described in the quality assurance program including equipment records, worksheets, and quality control logs.
Maintain specimen logs (Stored Orders, Work In Progress) and final laboratory reports in Orchard lab information system (LIS).
Handle outgoing patient lab results by providing final reports to the ordering physician in a timely manner via the LIS; also calling or emailing results as needed.
Participate in the performance of proficiency testing on all applicable lab tests.
Assist in special reporting or billing processes concerning clinical trials or other special projects authorized by the lab supervisor.
Use ConnectCare electronic medical records for communication with providers and staff and for charting patient information regarding lab results, specimen rejection, provider orders, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution
ASCP/Board certified (board eligible considered)

We are seeking a strong interpersonal Patient Care Representative in our Physical Therapy department who is willing to build relationships with patients, physicians and co-workers by providing “world class” service.
